American car shipping professionals who are members of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and live in certain states in the United States of America could be about to get some help reducing the carbon wheel-print of their business operations. The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association has announced they’re now accepting applications for grants to help transport professionals with the cost of a new auxiliary power unit for their transport vehicle and the installation of the APU. This means that the OOIDA will be able to provide qualifying transport professionals with a 40 percent reimbursement for the cost and installation of a new APU, starting Tuesday, according to sources.

What regions do vehicle transport professionals in the United States of America have to be from in order to qualify for the grants? The United States Environmental Protection Agency provided the funds in order to help install about 300 APUs in the transport trucks operating in regions 6 and 7 of America. Region 6 includes the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and 66 tribal nations, while region 7 includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and nine tribal nations. The Owner-Operators Independent Drivers Association is in fact one of five agencies that has been provided with financial help through funds from the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA), to help support transport professionals that want to install a new APU unit on their truck operating in the regions in question.
